Ukraine Related Sanctions Hit Firearms Market
Concern Kalashnikov/Izhmash Added to Sanctions List – No More Imports… For Now
The US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) last week released a list of Ukraine-related sanctions as part of Executive Order 13662—Blocking Property of Additional Persons Contributing to the Situation in Ukraine. To the dismay of AK-type rifles and shotguns, that list included Concern Kalashnikov.
The relevant portion of the sanctions list reads:

NH Democrat Pushes to Allow EBT Recipients to Purchase Firearms with Aid
New Hampshire’s 6th District Representative Timothy Horrigan argued before the house on Wednesday against a prohibition on public assistance recipients purchasing firearms using their EBT cards.
The proposed SB203 expands the prohibited uses of EBT funds as listed in NHRSA 167:7-b to forbid EBT cards from being used to purchase, among other things, firearms. Paragraph I-a of the legislation reads “[a]ny person who receives public assistance is prohibited from using an EBT card or cash obtained with an EBT card to gamble or to purchase tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, lottery tickets, firearms, or adult entertainment.” Continue reading

Vendors Flee from Harrisburg Show Following Rifle, Magazine Prohibition
UPDATE 2: ESOS ‘Postponed’
As per the statement posted on the ESOS website, Reed Exhibitions has indefinitely ‘postponed’ the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, PA. The National Shooting Sports Foundation, owners of SHOT Show (also managed by Reed), have also released a statement calling the Reed/ESOS decision ‘unacceptable’ and stating that they are “considering all options regarding the management of future SHOT Shows.” Find the full statements and discussion in the GunLink Forums thread regarding this topic.

Cabela’s move started what is now turning into a landslide as more than 60 vendors have dropped out of the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show in Harrisburg, PA.
