FN Joins as Supporting Sponsor of NSSF’s National Shooting Sports Month
FN America, LLC is pleased to announce that the company has signed on as a supporting sponsor of National Shooting Sports Month, created by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, or NSSF, the trade association representing the firearms industry. Kicking off this past Wednesday and taking place throughout the month of August, NSSF’s National Shooting Sports Month is designed to celebrate the excitement of the target shooting sports and highlight the lifetime of enjoyment this pastime provides.
“We have a long history at FN of producing the world’s most battle-proven firearms,” said Tom Scott, Director of Marketing for FN America, LLC. “We pride ourselves in delivering the same level of performance, reliability and quality in every firearm we produce, whether for military, law enforcement or civilian use. We are very pleased to partner with NSSF in promoting National Shooting Sports Month and encourage everyone to find an event near you, bring the entire family, and have a safe, fun time on the range.”
In addition to the celebration of target shooting, National Shooting Sports Month reminds the public that shooting is a safe activity enjoyed by millions of Americans, cultivates increased shooting sports participation through hundreds of fun events and activities at ranges and retail stores nationwide and fosters mentorship of new shooters by those already active in target shooting.
Hundreds of firearms ranges and retailers across the country have thrown their support behind National Shooting Sports Month by posting a wide-ranging roster of matches, tournaments, charity events, instructional classes, sales, family days at the range, our Trigger Time Sweepstakes and other promotions to the Calendar of Events at ShootingSportsMonth.org , which interacts with the newly launched LetsGoShooting.org website, a comprehensive consumer resource for all things shooting sports and firearms safety.
White House Recognizes National Shooting Sports Month in Presidential Message
On August 1, 2018, President of the United States Donald Trump and the White House officially recognized NSSF’s National Shooting Sports Month, emphasizing the importance of target shooting sports in American culture, firearms safety and support for conservation when they issued the Presidential Message below.
Last week, Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke, along with other members of the Department of the Interior had a chance to celebrate National Shooting Sports Month at The Range of Richfield, an NSSF Member range in Richfield, Wisconsin.
Message from President Donald Trump:
During National Shooting Sports Month, we celebrate the wonderful American tradition of shooting sports. Shooting sports are a terrific reminder of our constitutional liberty and the attendant benefits that accrue to a free people: active friendship within families, between peers, and among communities, and the opportunity for Americans living in small towns and large cities to experience the bounty of America’s great outdoors.
Shooting sports help reinforce many of the bedrock values of our people, such as the free exercise of the Second Amendment. Mastery of shooting sports requires rigor, discipline, and training. State and local shooting sports programs—and instruction by trained family members and mentors—affirm the role of local communities as the primary teacher of the rule of law and personal responsibility.
This month, we recognize the sportsmen and hunters who practice and teach firearm safety and exercise proper stewardship of our land. Sportsmen and hunters not only help others to understand the responsibilities of owning and using a firearm, but they also ensure that our open space and natural resources are safeguarded. Under existing Federal law, for example, a portion of Federal excise tax on the sale of firearms and ammunition is dedicated to American wildlife research and habitat conservation. That is one reason why my Administration has prioritized making it easier for Americans to participate in shooting sports on public lands. By doing so, we are enhancing Americans’ ability to experience the unsurpassed beauty of our blessed Nation and we are better protecting our national treasures for future generations.
I encourage all Americans engaged in shooting sports to continue promoting a culture of safety and to continue exercising the responsibility and duty associated with the right to keep and bear arms.

“I have known Joe Bartozzi for more than 20 years, on both personal and professional levels, and I believe he is an exemplary choice for this important position,” said Sanetti. “I know that he will work extremely hard to further our mission for the benefit of our industry and its customers, and I am very much looking forward to working together with Joe during this transitional period in the coming year.”
“I’ve had a tremendous career thus far at Mossberg, one for which I’m most thankful,” said Bartozzi. “As difficult as it is to leave that fine organization after 30 years, it is an honor to now take on a leadership position that will work to successfully conquer the challenges and seize the opportunities before us for the benefit of all our industry members.”
