Few of the VPR-12-02 Shotguns remaining
The FIME Group, the importer of Molot Vepr rifles and shotguns, is announcing to the public that there are only approximately 400 of the Vepr-12-02 model shotguns available for purchase. Molot has the reputation of being one of the most reliable and consistent manufacturers of firearms in the industry and produces some of the most sought after Kalashnikov-based products available.
“This is it. This is all we have and it is one of the most sought after configurations of the VEPR 12 that we imported,” says Walker English of the FIME Group. “The distributor RSR Group holds all of the remaining stock in their inventory. If a customer would like to purchase one of these models, this is their last chance to do so. They need to either have their local dealer order one through RSR, or seek out an online dealer or another dealer that might have one in stock. Given the current sanctions, once these are gone, there are no more available..”
Based on the RPK light machine gun Kalashnikov variant, the Molot Vepr 12 (VPR-12-02) is an original Russian production 12-gauge shotgun. Due to import regulations, Molot products have been banned from US importation; thus making them instant collectors items and must-haves in any serious collection.
“We wanted our customers to be aware of the limited inventory levels, so that if there was a desire to own one of these shotguns, they could take advantage of this opportunity before it was too late,” adds English.
Recall Issued for BTI Aftermarket M&P Rifle Lower Parts Kit
Battenfeld Technologies, Inc. (BTI) has announced a recall involving its M&P AR-15 Rifle Lower Parts Kit Complete, an aftermarket parts kit. This recall does NOT include and is not related to Smith & Wesson (S&W) factory produced complete M&P rifles.
The M&P AR-15 Rifle Lower Parts Kit Complete, identified as Item No. 110114, consists of the parts necessary to build a complete lower receiver for an AR-15 style modern sporting rifle. BTI is recalling all kits distributed prior to September 12, 2017, which do not exceed more than 4,700 kits. Kits sold during this time period may have been supplied with an incorrect hammer, which may lead to a failure of certain rifles to function as intended, including a potential risk of an unintended discharge. These kits were available for purchase online and through select retailers and distributors, including Turner’s Outdoorsman, Cabela’s, among others.

NRA Backed SHARE Act Passes Committee
The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) commends the House Committee on Natural Resources for markup and passage of H.R. 3668, the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act. Under the successful leadership of Committee Chairman Rob Bishop (R-UT) and Subcommittee Chairman Tom McClintock (R-CA), the SHARE Act now moves to the full U.S. House of Representatives.
“Today marks an important step in protecting the Second Amendment freedoms of America’s hunters and sportsmen and strengthening our outdoor heritage,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director, NRA-ILA. “The SHARE Act will cut burdensome red tape that restricts millions of hunters and sportsmen.”
The bill secures access to Federal public lands for hunting, fishing, and recreational shooting and includes the Hearing Protection Act (HPA). The HPA is an important safety-oriented aspect of the bill that will help protect the hearing of America’s hunters by eliminating expensive and excessive regulations on suppressors. Other key provisions include:
- Securing the future of hunting, fishing, and recreational shooting by increasing access to federal public lands.
- Reforming of the Firearm Owners’ Protection Act (FOPA), which protects the lawful, legal transport of unloaded firearms.
- Strengthening protections for carrying firearms on land managed by the Army Corps of Engineers.
- Removing the undefined and antiquated “sporting purposes test”, which opens the door to arbitrary ammunition bans.
- Returning wildlife management of the gray wolf back to states adversely affected by rising populations.
“I would like to thank Chairman Rob Bishop and Subcommittee Chairman Tom McClintock for their leadership and critical roles in ensuring committee passage of the SHARE Act. NRA Applauds Introduction of Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act
The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) applauds the introduction of H.R. 3668, the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act. Introduced by Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC), the bill will reduce burdensome regulations on America’s sportsmen, enhance access to public lands and simplify the purchasing process for firearm suppressors.
“The SHARE Act is critical legislation that will protect America’s hunters and recreational shooters and help preserve our outdoor heritage,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director, NRA-ILA. “This bill contains many important reforms to federal law that will remove unnecessary restrictions on our Second Amendment freedoms and hunting heritage.”
A key aspect of the bill is the Hearing Protection Act (HPA), which would eliminate burdensome and expensive regulations on suppressors. In addition, the bill would ensure greater protections for carrying lawfully-possessed firearms on land managed by the Army Corps of Engineers; require public lands management plans to facilitate hunting, fishing and recreational shooting; reform the outdated “sporting purposes test” that currently muddies federal gun control law regarding the importation of rifles and shotguns; and make critical reforms to the interstate transportation provisions of the Firearm Owner’s Protection Act (FOPA).

ATF Releases 2017 Report on Firearms Commerce in the U.S.
California Ranks No. 2 in the Most NFA Registered Weapons
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) recently released the Firearms Commerce in the United States – Annual Statistical Update 2017. The report provides comparative data from as far back as 1986 for context, analyses of firearms manufacturing trends over the years, and a broad picture of the state of firearms commerce in the United States today.
The data in the 2017 report shows an estimated 43 percent increase in firearms manufacturing in the U.S. within the last five years. In 2015, the number of firearms manufactured grew to more than 9.3 million, up from the approximate 6.5 million firearms manufactured in 2011. The most recent available firearm manufacturing statistics are through calendar year 2015.
Rifles made up the bulk of the firearms manufactured at 3.6 million in 2015. Pistols were a close second at 3.5 million. The number of rifles manufactured increased 9 percent from the previous year and the number of pistols decreased slightly by approximately 2 percent.
Updated firearms import and export data is included in the report. Import data is updated through 2016 and export data through 2015. In 2016, more than 5.1 million firearms were imported into the United States showing a 30 percent increase since 2015.
The most recent export statistics show more than 343,000 firearms (an 18 percent decrease from the previous year) were exported worldwide.
The commerce report includes a state-by-state breakdown of the National Firearm Act (NFA) tax revenue information. NFA is also referred to as Title II of the federal firearms laws and was first enacted in 1934. Continue reading
5th Generation GLOCK Pistols are Hitting Gun Store Shelves
Are you Jumping on the New Pistol Bandwagon?
GLOCK may not have won the bid to be the US Army and Air Force’s new pistols (no matter how big or how many tantrums they throw over losing out to Sig), but some of the changes from their “new” pistols seem to have made it into the latest Gen 5 models, just released.
The GunLink team got a few of the new pistols in our hands and it appears that “what’s old is new again” when it comes to some aspects of the latest offerings from the Austrian gun maker. Some of the “groundbreaking” changes on Gen 5 models are really just recycled features from as far back as Gen 2 models, while adding some characteristics for which users have been asking for a while – and some features that, as far as we know, nobody was asking for.
For the newest iteration of Perfection, GLOCK boasts “over 20 design modifications from their Gen4 predecessors,” which they claim “deliver improved accuracy, durability, performance, control, and flexibility.” Continue reading
