Duck Commander’s New Calls for 2018
Duck Commander’s passion for the outdoors drives the brand to continue making the best game calls for all outdoor enthusiasts. For 2018, Duck Commander introduced the new Flash duck call, the Pioneer featuring Realtree® Original camouflage, and extended the Jase Robertson Pro Series line.
“Whether you’re in the woods or on the water, we want to make sure hunters are equipped with the best calls,” said Justin Martin, General Manager of Duck Commander. “We’ve designed these new duck calls to withstand constant blowing from seasoned hunters during cold weather hunts, to making them easy to use for up and coming hunters.”
The Flash
The Flash has a silky, smooth tone that ducks will not be able to resist. This call is built using the Jase Robertson Pro Series modified reed system. It’s a soft-spoken call, but can get loud when the time comes.
Key features for The Flash :
- Crisp sound creates smooth cadences
- Short barrel
- Easy to blow
- Duck Commander signature double-reed, friction fit system
- MSRP $34.99
The Pioneer
For hunters looking for a call that perfectly mimics the mallard hen, Duck Commander’s Pioneer, is one you’ll need to have on your lanyard. The Pioneer, featuring Realtree® Original Camouflage, is also built off the Jase Robertson Pro Series reed design, and is easy to blow whether you’re an expert caller or a student of the sport.
Key features for The Pioneer:
- Realtree® Original Pattern
- Short barrel to maintain call pressure

Jase Robertson Pro Series
Coming off a successful year after launching the Jase Robertson Pro Series in 2017, Duck Commander decided to extend the line in 2018 to offer hunters more options using various models.
The reed system in this series of calls is creative and will harmonize with the air pressure like a single reed would, but has the toughness of a double reed. The Jase Robertson Series calls will do everything a Mallard hen does and will do everything a human thinks they should do on a duck call…quack it, feed it, or hail on it with equal enthusiasm.
Features of Jase Robertson Pro Series Models:
- Blackwood
- Bocote
- Burnt Hedge
- Chartreuse
- Maple
- OD Green
- Smoke
- MSRP ranges from $54.99-$64.99

New Glock Tool Kit and Magnetic Patch from Fix It Sticks
Fix It Sticks, the industry innovator of modular firearms maintenance tools and torque limiters has introduced a Glock Tool Kit and Magnetic Patch. Both these new items perfectly integrate with the Fix It Sticks tool system as well as perform as stand-alone products.
The Glock Tool Kit has the quintessential tools for disassembly and reassembly of Glock handguns, including a Front Sight Tool and 3/32” Pin Punch. The Glock Front Sight Tool is a 3/16″ hex driver with thin walls to access the fastener. An integrated magnet holds the front sight screw securely in place. The Pin Punch is easy to use and sized so the Glock takedown pins can be removed and reinstalled by hand. Both tools are machined from solid bar stock and work with the Fix It Sticks or any standard ¼” bit driver.
The magnetic patch is a great addition to any tool kit. Designed to keep track of bit and fasteners, it can be used while attached to the Fix It Sticks case by Velcro or flipped over and used by itself as a tray. Simply place bits and screws on the patch and the magnet securely holds the in place until they are needed. Patches can be attached to the Velcro front side of the patch as well.
Both the Glock Tool Kit and Magnetic Pouch are designed for use out in the field but are perfect on the bench as well. Both products are now available. The Glock Tool Kit has an MSRP of $16.00 and the Magnetic Patch as an MSRP of $10.00
NSSF and Walker’s Work to Mentor the Next Generation of Hunters and Shooters
The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®) and Walker’s have launched a mentor initiative that encourages experienced target shooters and hunters to invite new individuals to the range or field. The campaign is part of NSSF’s Mentor Pledge initiative developed to facilitate growth of the shooting sports community through education, safety and fun.
As an incentive, NSSF and Walker’s are providing free Razor Ear Muffs (valued at $69.99) to the first 2,000 mentors. Participants must sign a pledge online and share a photo or short video of their experience with a new hunter or shooter in order to claim their reward.
“We are thrilled to play a part in supporting the next generation of hunters and shooters,” said Ben Smith, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Walker’s. “This partnership with NSSF is the perfect opportunity for our company to give back to the shooting sports community.”
“Research shows that 24 million American’s have an interest getting started hunting or target shooting and that Being invited by a friend or family member is by far the best way to get new folks to the range or field,” said Jim Curcuruto, Director of Research & Market Development at NSSF. “This program aligns with NSSF programs such as National Shooting Sports Month and First Shots that provide introductions to the shooting sports.”

SIG SAUER Among Founding Members of New Airgun Sporting Association
Leads Effort to Legalize Hunting with Airguns in New Hampshire
SIG AIR, the airgun division of SIG SAUER, Inc., is pleased to support the newly created Airgun Sporting Association as a founding member. A primary focus of the Airgun Sporting Association is to strengthen relationships between state wildlife agencies and representatives of the airgun industry and to work towards legalizing the use of airguns for hunting and recreational shooting throughout the United States.
“SIG AIR is dedicated to supporting the growth of the airgun sports and to working to enact new laws to allow hunting with airguns using appropriate calibers for various species of game,” said Joseph Huston, Vice President and General Manager of SIG AIR and member of the Airgun Sporting Association Board of Directors. “More states are beginning to recognize that today’s advanced airgun technology allows for ethical hunting with airguns, and laws are changing accordingly. SIG SAUER worked with game officials and legislators here in New Hampshire to amend a bill to allow hunting of small game with air rifles, such as the new SIG ASP20 break barrel air rifle, and Governor Sununu just signed this bill into law. This is welcome news for current airgun enthusiasts and will help open the door to new hunters and shooters over time.”
