GunLink Directory Helps Promote Firearms and Gear Related Businesses

The GunLink website has numerous facets, most of which have been added due to feedback from visitors as the site has grown.  In addition to a blog with firearms news, product reviews, event coverage and more, GunLink offers forums for general discussion (firearms related or otherwise), user generated reviews, a Second Amendment grassroots meeting place and more.  We are currently working on re-seller programs for firearms related software and other products and, again based on visitor feedback, are considering the addition of a classified ads section for firearms and accessories.

With all of these more recent additions, we don’t want to forget the single purpose for which GunLink was created; the feature from which our site takes its name.  GunLink started out as a business directory for firearms related businesses.  Basically, a link to guns …hence the GunLink moniker.

GunLink Forum Provides Grassroots Rallying Point for Second Amendment Proponents

Second Amendment to the United States ConstitutionIn almost any discussion regarding how to protect America’s right to keep and bear arms, as provided for in the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, it is almost a certainty that two tried-and-true methods will come up.  The first method is to call or write your elected representatives at a local, state and federal level and make your pro-2A feelings known.  After all, it is their job to carry out the wishes of their constituents and if they do not know what those wishes are, how can they act upon them?  Many, however, feel that such contact falls upon deaf ears and that, in a game where such officials may receive hundreds, if not thousand, of phone calls, emails and letters every day, one individual’s opinion is too easy to overlook or simply ignore.

The second method that often comes up offers a solution to that problem.  If one individual’s voice is too easy to overlook or ignore, magnify that voice by joining a gun rights organization.  In a discussion on gun rights organizations, there are usually Continue reading

GunLink Ads Make Their Way to Blog

Alright, we’ve got ads on the blog now.  Our advertisers should be happy.  We’ve also tried to keep them as unobtrusive (for those of you in Rio Linda – that means they’re out of the way) as possible, so readers should be happy too.

If you’re one of our advertisers: the blog ads currently work the same way as they do across the rest of the site as far as selection and impressions go.  We will incorporating blog advertising into our overall advertising program and possibly adding new advertising options.  If you are interested in starting a new advertising campaign on GunLink or changing your current campaign details, contact us at advertising at GunLink.info

We’re just trying this out temporarily for now, so they may not be there for long.  We will be working various options as we get the ball rolling on this new site feature, so don’t be surprised if you see some things changing.  As usual, we’d love to hear feedback on our progress.

Welcome to the GunLink Blog – The Online Firearms Portal

Well, here we are.  We’ve kicked around the idea for a while of having a GunLink blog and we’ve finally got around to adding one.

It should be useful on several levels.  Currently, new GunLink articles get posted on the GunLink Forums, which can make them more difficult for the average user who might not be a forum member to access.  For the time being, we have several options that we’re going to explore.

The first option is to post articles on both the forums and on the blog.  This would probably make the articles the most accessible but would also take up the most time (for posting, formatting, etc) only to duplicate material.  Alternatively, we can post original articles (and links to 3rd part articles) on the blog, where they would be easy to find, and post a link to the blog entry on the forum so forum users know about the new materials.  Another option would be to flip-flop that and have the articles on the forum and a brief description and a link on the blog.  Personally, I think the second option makes the most sense, but we’re open to suggestions.  Feel free to let us know what you think in blog comments, forum posts or via Twitter.
