NRAAM Off to a Great Start
Day one of the 2014 NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits is in the can and the third of the big early-year firearms shows is off to a great start already. GunLink staff is on hand to cover the show with all of the new and exciting products, services and more being offered to the shooting, hunting and outdoors communities and the coverage starts here. GunLink staff has been covering NSSF SHOT Show for several years now but the 2014 NRAAM marks our first visit to this show, so we weren’t sure what to expect. We spend day one roaming the sometimes-narrow and often-crowded aisles of the exhibit floor, visiting with companies and plotting out our agenda for the remainder of the show. We caught up with some familiar faces like Lola and Hank Strange, N82 Tactical, MyCaseBuilder.com, Sticky Holsters, the KelTec crew and others. 
We are also getting a chance to meet up with less familiar faces with new and exciting offerings for target shooters, hunters and defensive firearm owners. There is a strong presence of companies offering products catering to female shooters and, since we have one of our female editors here at the show, we will be able to provide a more useful perspective on those products.

NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits Heading to Indianapolis for 2014
The busy spring season for firearms and outdoor shows is wrapping up later this month as the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits speed into the home of the Indy 500. The annual event, which moves around the nation each year, will be held at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis from Friday April 25 through Sunday the 27th.
Attendance is free for NRA members and online registration is available now. If you are not already an NRA member, you can join online now and save $10 on your membership dues.
NRAAM hosts over 600 exhibitors that cover more than 400,000 square feet of exhibit hall space, this show is sure to have something for everyone. Unlike SHOT Show earlier in the year, which is an industry-only event, NRAAM is open to the public, who spend the show’s three days visiting every major firearm and firearm accessory manufacturer in the country, seeing beautiful collections of priceless firearms and more. The GunLink crew will be there to capture the action and bring you coverage of the latest guns, gear and more.
The event isn’t just about the exhibits, either! There are dinners and benefit auctions, leadership forums and entertainment including the NRA Country Jam and a special appearances by Alabama, Sara Evans and Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North at the Stand & Fight Rally. Continue reading
Welcome to Fabulous SHOT Show – Las Vegas, NV
This week marks the 36th annual SHOT Show. With attendees numbering over 60,000 in recent years and nearly 2,000 exhibitors, the industry trade show has come a long way from its humble beginnings in 1979 St. Louis.
The Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trades – SHOT – Show exhibits the latest and greatest products and information for a wide variety attendees. From the latest hunting and camping gear to law enforcement equipment and techniques to the most up-to-date marketing and compliance information for firearms dealers. And, of course, guns. Lots and lots of wonderful new firearms of interest to the general shooting public.
As we have for the last several years, GunLink will have staff at the show to compile all of the photos, videos and articles you need to plan out how you’re going to blow all your money this year. GunLink Makes Twitter Top 50 List

Magpul Industries Announces Plans For Relocation
After a nine month wait (and significant doubt from some critics), Magpul Industries is picking up its operations from gun-unfriendly Colorado and moving them to Wyoming and Texas.
Company Is Moving Operations to Wyoming and Texas
Magpul Industries announced today that it is relocating its operations to Wyoming and Texas.
The company is relocating manufacturing, distribution and shipping operations to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Magpul is leasing a 58,000 square foot manufacturing and distribution facility during the construction of a 100,000 square foot build-to-suit facility in the Cheyenne Business Parkway. The Wyoming relocation is being completed with support from Governor Matt Mead, the Wyoming Business Council and Cheyenne LEADS.
Magpul is moving its corporate headquarters to Texas. Three North Central Texas sites are under final consideration, and the transition to the Texas headquarters will begin as soon as the facility is selected. The Texas relocation is being accomplished with support from Governor Rick Perry and the Texas Economic Development Corporation.

SHOT Show Offers Educational Opportunities
The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trades Show (SHOT Show) ins’t just about seeing the latest and greatest guns and gear that is coming down the line. The show offers great opportunities to get the education you need to be successful in your field, wether it’s law enforcement, operating a shooting range or selling firearms and accessories.
SHOT Show University
SHOT Show University, held January 13 (the day before SHOT Show starts), offers four separate course tracks that you can check out based on your educational needs: ATF Compliance, Marketing, Retail Operations and Range Operations. These courses cover everything from Error Proofing your 4473 Forms to using social media, from taking inventory to hiring the right people and everything in between.
Retailer Seminars
Retailer Seminars run from January 14-17 and cover a variety of topics including grassroots political organizing, NFA compliance, background checks, loss prevention and much more.
Law Enforcement Education Program
This program, which also runs the duration of the show, January 14-17, is presented by NSSF and Law Officer Magazine. The LEEP covers topics including advanced sighting systems, illumination systems, recruiting practices, low light training, enhanced weapons systems and more.
