Team Winchester Member Zach Kienbaum Wins Back-to-Back NSCA National Champion
Team Winchester member Zachary Kienbaum is the back-to-back National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) High Overall Champion.
Kienbaum competed against 1,600-plus athletes over four separate courses and took home the title with a score of 290 targets out of a possible 300. The National Champion title is the ultimate ending to an impeccable year. Kienbaum was named High Overall at six different events during the 2019 season along with four runner-up titles. He shot Winchester AA® shotshells in each of his competitions.
“To be a national champion is a remarkable feat, but to do it back to back is a true testament of extreme focus and skill,” said Matt Campbell, vice president of sales and marketing for Winchester Ammunition. “Zach is a tremendous shooter and a valuable member of Team Winchester.”
FBI Chooses Winchester as .40S&W Source
FBI Contract Awarded to Winchester
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has completed an extensive evaluation process and Winchester has been chosen as its primary source for .40 S&W pistol ammunition. This includes a bonded jacketed hollow point (JHP) service cartridge as well as full metal jacket (FMJ) and frangible training loads. Winchester has been supplying the FBI with service and training ammunition for many years and is honored to be awarded the most recent contract and continue to support our nation’s premier law enforcement agency.
The 180 gr. bonded jacketed hollow point (JHP) cartridge selected by the FBI is designed with patented technology that utilizes a reverse-jacketed, bonded bullet that can penetrate a wide variety of intermediate barriers while maintaining very consistent target penetration and reliable expansion. The nickel-plated cartridge prevents corrosion and ensures smooth feeding and extraction. Flash suppressed powder is used in this cartridge to maintain an agent’s night vision and meet the FBI’s stringent darkened range evaluation.
“The FBI uses one of the most rigorous ammunition tests ever developed and we are very proud that Winchester has been identified as having the best product performance.” said Matt Campbell, vice president of marketing and sales for Winchester.
Winchester Introduces Steel Cased Ammo
Steel shellcase ammunition has been a favorite among value-minded shooters looking to reduce the expense of shooting, while at the same time increasing their opportunities to shoot.
In the new USA Forged, Winchester introduces a steel shellcase product that is made in the USA. USA Forged represents the culmination of an extensive development project that resulted in new manufacturing methods.
This new line is proudly manufactured in Winchester’s Oxford, Miss., manufacturing facility and utilizes precision-made steel shellcases with a proprietary coating for improved reliability and corrosion resistance. The noncorrosive boxer primers and clean-burning powder are ideal for high-volume range sessions, while the brass jacketed (nonplated) lead-core bullets can be used on any range and can also be used in any pistol type; including ported, vented or suppressed pistols.
USA Forged will be offered in a 150-round box of 9mm cartridges with 115-grain full metal jacket (FMJ) bullets that feature a high-quality brass bullet jacket. The rounds, which boast a muzzle velocity of 1,190 fps were extensively tested during development for functionality and reliability. Shooters should expect great on-the-range performance with this new product.
“USA Forged is proof that better products can be made right here in the United States while driving value for the consumer. We have invested in our Oxford, Miss., facility and USA Forged is just one example of how this is benefiting our consumers,” said Brett Flaugher, Winchester Ammunition vice president of marketing, sales and strategy.
