NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits Heading to Indianapolis for 2014

NRAAM 2014 - IndianapolisThe busy spring season for firearms and outdoor shows is wrapping up later this month as the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits speed into the home of the Indy 500.  The annual event, which moves around the nation each year, will be held at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis from Friday April 25 through Sunday the 27th.

Attendance is free for NRA members and online registration is available now.  If you are not already an NRA member, you can join online now and save $10 on your membership dues.

NRAAM hosts over 600 exhibitors that cover more than 400,000 square feet of exhibit hall space, this show is sure to have something for everyone.  Unlike SHOT Show earlier in the year, which is an industry-only event, NRAAM is open to the public, who spend the show’s three days visiting every major firearm and firearm accessory manufacturer in the country, seeing beautiful collections of priceless firearms and more.  The GunLink crew will be there to capture the action and bring you coverage of the latest guns, gear and more.

The event isn’t just about the exhibits, either!  There are dinners and benefit auctions, leadership forums and entertainment including the NRA Country Jam and a special appearances by Alabama, Sara Evans and Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North at the Stand & Fight Rally. Continue reading

Busy Show Season Approaching for Firearms, Shooting and Outdoor Aficionados

SHOTcrowd

Firearms enthusiasts, hunters, outdoorsmen, law enforcement personnel and members of firearms related industries will have ample opportunity to see the latest and greatest new offerings over the course of the next few months.  The first half of the 2014 calendar is host to a number of large shows and exhibitions catering to these markets, including the NSSF SHOT Show, NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits and the Great American Outdoor Show.  There may have been a few shake-ups in the world of firearms shows over the past year but, as they say, the show must go on

It’s hard to believe that it’s only a month away, but the year starts off with a bang in January at the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s (NSSF) Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show).  The annual industry-only show is held Continue reading

Gun Control Advocates. There’s a Sucker Born Every Minute

More Lies From Gun Control ZealotsIt is difficult to tell whether gun control advocates actually believe the things they say, blindly parrot whatever they hear or just completely make things up to fit their anti-rights agenda.  The answer to this should be clear for the top brass of gun control organizations – there is simply no way that they can not have the facts yet they still choose to disregard them to push their bogus schemes.  Among rank-and-file anti-gunners there is likely a mix of the three, which sometimes makes it difficult to separate the shills from the truly brainwashed – the low information crowd, as it were.

Recently, after sending out a tweet containing a link to join NRA, we received an interesting response.  As gun control zealots are often wont to do, this twitter user masquerades as something they’re not, claiming to represent NRA members’ opinions while using the TCOT hashtag and a picture of one of the founding fathers as their profile picture – presumably hoping that readers would blindly accept it as truth.  Also in typical gun-control-zealot fashion, the user claims to Continue reading

NSSF Drops Reed Exhibitions as Managers of SHOT Show

NSSF MemberYou probably remember the blowup causing vendors to leave en mass from the Harrisburg, PA, Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show and the subsequent change in management to NRA managing the new Harrisburg show.  You probably also remember the outcry over the continued management by Reed of the NSSF SHOT Show.  The big news of the day is that NSSF has now terminated their agreement and the SHOT Show will be under new management going forward.

Announced via the SHOT Show Blog:

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, today announced that it has reached an agreement with Reed Exhibitions to terminate the agreement the parties had for the management of the SHOT Show. Accordingly, effective immediately, Reed Exhibitions will no longer be manager and producer of the SHOT Show.

Reed Exhibitions provided excellent service to NSSF and the customers of the SHOT Show for more than three decades, however, the company’s decision to restrict the sale of certain types of firearms this year at its consumer hunting and fishing show — an event unrelated to NSSF and the SHOT Show — was in conflict with NSSF’s mission to serve the shooting sports industry. As a result, both organizations decided it was in the best interest of the SHOT Show to end their relationship.

NSSF is actively engaged in the process of identifying a new show management company to manage and produce the SHOT Show beginning with the 2014 SHOT Show.

The SHOT Show — the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show — is owned and sponsored by NSSF. It is the largest and most comprehensive trade show for all professionals involved with the shooting sports, hunting and law enforcement industries. The 2014 SHOT Show will be held Jan. 14-17 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.

NRA Leaders Step Up Calls to Fight Restrictions on Gun Ownership

XDS 9Greg Flakus  May 05, 2013  VOA News

HOUSTON, TEXAS — More than 70,000 people attended the annual convention of the National Rifle Association, or NRA in Houston this weekend to conduct organizational business, listen to speeches and get a look at some of the latest products offered by gun manufacturers. Resistance to recent proposals to limit access to guns was the focus of the event.

NRA members came from all over the country to rally for the right to bear arms guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which is under threat, according to NRA Executive Vice President and CEO Wayne LaPierre. “We will never back away from our resolve to defend our rights and the rights of all law-abiding gun owners,” he said.
