FN Remains Fully Operational During COVID-19

FN America, LLC would like to inform its customers that the company has been designated as an essential business to the Defense Industrial Base by the Department of Defense and the state of South Carolina. The company’s production facility, based in Columbia, South Carolina, remains open and is operating at full capacity to deliver against FN’s multiple military contracts and customer orders. FN’s two other locations in Virginia also remain open and at full operation, as well.

“As COVID-19 continues to impact our nation, our employees, their families and our customers are at the forefront of our thoughts and actions during this unprecedented time,” said Mark Cherpes, President and CEO for FN America. “Because we are designated as an essential business by our state and by the Federal government, we remain open and continue to produce but have taken measures to ensure the safety and security of our team while we operate under these circumstances. Our customers depend on us each day to supply them with dependable, reliable firearms and we will continue to support them.”

“In response to this outbreak, FN has established a COVID-19 response task force to implement measures above and beyond recommended guidelines, ensure employee safety while on the job and keep our teams informed as we work to minimize disruption to our daily operations. Additionally, FN has implemented telework for those who are able to work remotely and introduced a new program called Patriot Pay.”

“The Patriot Pay program provides a temporary wage increase to FN employees who are working onsite at the company’s production facility directly engaged in manufacturing operations. In addition to this wage lift, employees have flexible leave schedules to care for themselves or their families should they need to, as well as other benefits.”

“During these uncertain times, as our nation responds and adjusts to this unprecedented pandemic situation, please rest assured that FN stands ready to support its customers with the dependable, reliable firearms they expect.”

Hi-Point Firearms Voluntarily Ceases Operations Temporarily Due to COVID-19

Statement from Hi-Point regarding work during the COVID-19 outbreak:

The state of Ohio and other states have organized complete business shutdowns due to Covid 19 situation. However, Ohio where Hi-Point is located is designated as a select or strategic business, therefore in Ohio, firearm manufacturing is exempted from closure.

The management of Hi-Point has chosen to voluntarily shut down and perform preventative work until April 6th. This also gives Hi-Point Employees time off to self-quarantine and be with their families.

MKS Supply, the exclusive marketeer of Hi-Point is following this same program. MKS Supply will continue to monitor business orders for Hi-Points in stock but will have a reduced output until April 6.

So, what can gun owners do since even going to the range is a potential no no? Well, now might be the time to sit down in front of the tele with some outdoor show on and do some firearms cleaning you have put off. We all know cleaning guns is the “best part of shooting”-huh? That’s why we do it all the time. But this really is a good time to get shooting gear well maintained and maybe even, and this takes courage for some of us, organize our shooting gear and shooting boxes for more convenience for when we get to go to the range.

Also, we expect to see some of the best-looking lawns in years across the country this coming spring as self-isolating people get out and garden in the fresh air during this pandemic.

We are all on a steep learning curve, but we will win this thing-Americans are winners, always have been! We the people will pull through this mess. So, from all of us at Hi-Point Firearms and MKS Supply, LLC, please use care, stay isolated, keep clean, enjoy the new adventure, and god bless.

Project ChildSafe Announces New Donation Page Ahead of Giving Tuesday

With Giving Tuesday fast approaching on December 3, the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s firearms safety program, Project ChildSafe, is making supporters aware of its new donation interface, which now welcomes one of the most popular forms of giving — recurring donations. Think: set it and forget it!

This year marks the 20th year for the Project ChildSafe program, the leading voice in genuine gun safety education. To recognize this milestone, Project ChildSafe is asking supporters to consider monthly giving to help achieve the collective goal of reducing firearms accidents and misuse.

Project ChildSafe helps create a culture of firearms safety for everyone, gun owners and non-gun owners alike, because safety is everyone’s responsibility. Securely storing firearms when not in use is the number one way to help prevent accidents, theft and misuse, including suicide. Safe storage works: Fatal firearms accidents have declined by 50 percent in the last 20 years and represent less than 1 percent of fatal accidents from all causes.

“Over the past two decades, the notable impact of Project ChildSafe helping to save lives was made possible through the generous support from many in the firearms community – from individuals to organizations – and we are pleased to be able to provide a new way for partners to continue to give,” said NSSF President Joe Bartozzi.

Supporters who commit to giving $20 per month (in recognition of Project ChildSafe’s 20-year anniversary) will join the Partners in Safety Club. Your support is needed to help Project ChildSafe reach its goal of 2,020 new Partners in Safety. Join “the club” today to ensure an ongoing culture of safety.

Singular and monthly donations are made to the Project ChildSafe Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity that helps support the NSSF Project ChildSafe program. Donations are tax deductible to the extent of the law.

Springfield Armory’s 10,000 Round Hellcat Test

The Hellcat from Springfield Armory has proven its mettle in a grueling 10,000-round test, showing that the EDC innovator not only has the features to make it the best on the market, but also the durability to outlast all the competition.

With support from Federal Ammunition and Action Targets, Off the Reservation’s Clay Martin put the Hellcat through this challenging test over the span of two days. Martin brought a wealth of firearms expertise to bear during the test, from his background as a competitive shooter as well as his time in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army, retiring as a Special Forces Intelligence Sergeant from 3rd SFG (A).

From its release on 9/25/19, the Hellcat has quickly built a reputation for excellent quality and performance, and represents a new direction for Springfield Armory polymer pistols. Being the smallest high-capacity 9mm in the world, the +P-capable pistol packs in 11+1 rounds (13+1 with extended magazine) in a 3″-barreled micro pistol that weighs around 18 ounces empty. And with the OSP version, you gain the ability to direct mount micro-sized red dot optics.

“When we learned of Martin’s test, we were excited about seeing the Hellcat prove what it could do,” says Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing with Springfield Armory. “When a micro-sized pistol designed for concealed carry bests a test more appropriate for full-sized duty pistols, it allows the quality of the product speak for itself,” he continued.   Continue reading

Ruger Expands Security-9 Pistol Line with New Pro Models

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. is proud to introduce the Security-9 Pro and Security-9 Pro Compact pistols. These Pro models maintain many of the same advanced features of the popular Security-9, but are offered without the external manual thumb safety. Security-9 Pro models also ship with three alloy steel magazines and factory-installed steel tritium night sights.

Like other models of the Security-9, these new Pro models include internal safety mechanisms such as an integrated trigger safety, neutrally balanced sear with significant engagement and strong spring tension, and hammer catch to help prevent the hammer from contacting the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled.

The Security-9 Pro is constructed around a rigid, precision-machined, anodized aluminum chassis with full-length guide rails and a blued alloy steel slide and barrel. The ergonomic grip-frame is comfortable in the hand and features a medium texture. The internal hammer and Secure Action trigger provide a short, crisp feel and positive reset.

The Security-9 Pro holds 15+1 rounds of powerful 9mm Luger ammunition with a mid-sized frame and 4″ barrel. Weighing under 24 ounces, and measuring just 5″ tall and approximately 1″ wide, it is the perfect size for your holster or a day at the range. The compact model shares the same features in a smaller package, holding 10+1 rounds in a flush-fit magazine and weighing under 22 ounces with a 3.40″ barrel (15-round magazines are also available on ShopRuger.com). Both models are ideal for everyday carry.
